Step into the cafe, and you see chairs, tables and other crafted utilities that have been designed and painted by famous Hyderabad artists like Laxman Aelay, Rajeswara Rao, Sachin Jaltare, Chippa Sudhakar, Srinivas Reddy, Masuram Ravikanth, Sunil Lohar, Priyanka Aelay, Afza Tamkanat and Akshay Anand Singh. The walls too showcase paintings and pieces of art that enhance the artistic flavour of the tastefully decorated cafe.

“It’s simple here. If you like the art from the café you can buy it, and that includes even the tables and chairs. The cafe has a small podium where upcoming artists can showcase their talent. One can have book reading sessions, a small skit, singing performance, etc. Call a few friends and exhibit their talent,” shares Supriya who has many ideas to make Gallery Cafe a buzzing and interesting joint where people can just drop by, read a book, meet friends and just relax.

Features like Charity Wall, Auction Wall, Blessings Tree, Reference Library, multimedia installations and video art will be part of the cafe along with regular music, dance and theatre shows. “We have a small library; one can come, pick a book and read. Then there is an art wall; people can try their hand at painting, etc, and they can sell their art, we will have blind auction for paintings by senior artists," Supriya shares her many ideas.

With a menu designed around wholesome vegetarian snacks and some delicious varieties of coffee and tea. Behind the light savouries and delicious snacks is the inimitable combination of Chef Chalapathi Rao and Chef Kesi Nasudan. “The ambience of the café is very artistic. The important aspect of our menu is that we are trying to match the theme of the café. Going forward we will even have plates and cups painted upon by artists.

We will design our menu around an artist sometimes. This is going to be an emerging space. We have many varieties of coffee and tea along with assortment of snacks - Meter Kaapi from south India, Arabic Kahwa, Columbian coffee, Turkish,” shares Chef Chalapathi.
