The Principal District Judge, who was the chief guest at the workshop, said "Certain doubts are raised in the beginning about settling of disputes through arbitration. There was a misleading campaign that courts were not working properly and an alternative method of settling disputes are introduced to reduce the burden on courts. They were being used because they helped in resolving legal disputes quickly and at low cost and more privately. "He also said the people were now seeking settlement of dispute through Lok Adalats. He cited the success of mega Lok Adalat held recently in Khammam district. The government should allot additional budget to strengthen the system. Allocation of additional budget for this system would enable the junior lawyers gain confidence and get recognition in their profession."
