Good response to Mission Kakatiya: Nakrekal MLA.The leaders of Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC), TGOs Association and Employees JAC on Sunday voluntarily participated in the works of desilting of a tank at Aitipamula village of Kattangur mandal in the district.

Nalgonda: The leaders of Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC), TGOs Association and Employees JAC on Sunday voluntarily participated in the works of desilting of a tank at Aitipamula village of Kattangur mandal in the district.Following the call given by JAC Chairman Prof Kodandaram, a large number of members of TJAC, TGOs Association and Employees JAC went to Aitipamula from Nalgonda town in a rally and participated in the works of Mission Kakatiya. Earlier, they paid tributes to Telangana martyrs at the memorial at clock tower centre in Nalgonda.
Nakrekal MLA Vemula Veeresham has formally launched the works of Mission Kakatiya at Aitimala tank, which is located close to National Highway. Speaking on the occasion, Veemula Veeresham said that Mission Kakatiya, which was taken up for restoration of tanks, was receiving good response from the people. He alleged that the tanks in Telangana were deliberately destructed and encroached in united Andhra Pradesh. This has caused adverse affect on environment in rural areas, he said.
To bring the earlier glory to the tanks, KCR government has launched Mission Kakatiya, which would change the face of villages soon. In addition to silt removing, repairing and restoration of feeder channels would also be taken up under the prestigious programme, he added.Telangana JAC district convenor G Venkateshwarlu said that the Telangana region earlier had tanks with a total capacity to store 260 tmc of water, but they have been destructed during the rule of Andhra rulers. He stressed the need to encourage common people to take part in Mission Kakatiya works.TGO Association leader Mohan Reddy, Employees JAC leader P Venkateshwar Rao and Home Guards Association president Yadagiri also participated in the programme.
