Hero MotoCorp becomes largest scooter exporter in India.As per the figures released by SIAM, the export market for scooters (90cc - 120cc) saw an increase of 117.12 percent year-on-year with sales for the FY2014-15 amounting to 1,89,240 units, as opposed to 87,161 units in the FY2013-14.

As per the figures released by SIAM, the export market for scooters (90cc - 120cc) saw an increase of 117.12 percent year-on-year with sales for the FY2014-15 amounting to 1,89,240 units, as opposed to 87,161 units in the FY2013-14.

Hero MotoCorp saw a growth of 356.24 percent in its scooter exports with the company exporting 79,956 units in the FY2014-15, as against 17,525 units in the FY2013-14. These figures saw the company surpass Honda Motorcycles and Scooters (HMSI), to become India’s largest scooter exporter.

HMSI also saw a growth in scooter exports year-on-year with the company exporting 77,814 units in the FY2014-15 as against 51,932 units in the FY2013-14, a growth of 49.84 percent. This made it the second largest scooter exporter in the country.

TVS Motor Company maintained a linear growth in scooter exports with the company exporting 15,570 units in the FY2014-15, as against 11,923 units in the FY2013-14.

Other notable growths were for Suzuki Motorcycles India and Yamaha Motors with the former seeing its exports rise from 699 units in Fy2013-14 to 5,712 units in the FY2014-15. Yamaha Motors on the other hand saw scooter exports rise from 1,635 units in the FY2013-14 to 6,271 units in the FY2014-15.
