3 Hyderabad MLAs likely to switch sides before TRS plenary session begins

Hyderabad: The TDP is making a last ditch effort to avert poaching of three more MLAs by the TRS. Speculations are rife that Ibrahimpatnam, Kukatpally and Rajendranagar legislators M Kishan Reddy, M Krishna Rao and Prakash Goud, respectively, are set to join the ruling party on Friday when the pink party’s plenary is slated to be held. Shocked by this sudden development TTDP leaders spoke to party president N Chandrababu Naidu, who was in Mussorie, over the issue and Nara Lokesh convened a meeting of the TTDP to take stock of the situation.

He also tried to contact Kishan Reddy but as Reddy was holding meeting with his party workers did not respond to the call. Following this, Lokesh called up Pradeep Kumar Reddy, son of Kishan Reddy, to party office and held a long meeting with him. According to sources, Pradeep Reddy assured Lokesh that his father would not quit the party. But Kishan Reddy was conspicuous by his absence at the meeting of the TDP MLAs held in the evening.

Roads & Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao is said to have met Kishan Reddy during the last few days and held negotiations with him and convinced him to switch loyalties. Similarly, Prakash Goud and M Krishna Rao were also contacted by the TRS leadership. All the three are said to be in close touch with KCR.

When contacted the Kukatpalli MLA denied that he was contemplating to join the TRS and said that he would be participating in the Mahbubnagar tour of Chandrababu Naidu slated for Thursday. It may be recalled that all these three had planned to quit the TDP few months back but somehow they backtracked. The TRS now appears to be keen to rope them into the party in view of the ensuing GHMC elections.
