“Hussainsagar used to make up for the lack of a sea in Hyderabad, but the Andhra rulers have made it a drainage pond. The government is committed to restoring its past glory,” he assured.
Speaking at the ongoing TRS plenary on the local bodies, Rao said his government wanted to transform Hyderabad into a global metropolis. Modernisation of police, reviving Musi river, cleansing Hussainsagar lake, improving transportation with metro rail, construction of satellite cities and others were among the trend setting changes on the anvil.
