The 7.9 magnitude earthquake had rocked Himalayan region on Saturday morning which also felt in Assam and other parts of the north eastern region.
There have no reports of any major damage in the state so far, but several buildings, private properties were damaged in Guwahati, Morigaon, Bongaigaon, Majuli.
The NDRF and SDRF teams in Guwahati have been alerted after the horror earthquake.
"We are alert for any situation in the state. We have no reports of any major damage in Guwahati and other parts of the state, " a top official of NDRF said.
On other hand the state government had instructed to the all district administration to tackle any situation have been arise.
