Hyderabad: Thunderstorms with squall/hail will occur at isolated places in Telangana, Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra Pradesh on Saturday. Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in coastal AP. Isolated rain or thundershowers may occur in Telangana, Rayalaseema and coastal AP during the next four days.

On Friday, thunderstorm accompanied by isolated hailstorm/squall occurred in all districts of Rayalaseema. There was heavy rain at isolated places in all districts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. Hailstorm occurred at isolated places in Coastal Andra Pradesh between 8.30 am and 2.30 pm on Friday. Rain/thundershower occurred at many places in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

The Chief amounts of rainfall recorded (in cm) were:

Andhra Pradesh: Madakasira 8, Gummagatta 7, Gooty 5, Rayadurg 4, Nandavaram, Rudravaram, Kambadur, Komarada 4, Podili, Macherla ,Pattikanda, Kalyandrug, Devanakonda, Hindupur and Aspari (dist Kurnool) 3 each.

Telangana: Eturunagaram, Govindaraopet 7 each, Yellandu, Venkatapur, Maheswaram 6 each, Kothagudem, Maganoor, Gundala 5 each, Chennaraopet 4, Narsampet, Mulugu, Palawancha, Venkatapuram, Khanapur, Makthal, Warangal and Nagarkurnool 3 each.

On Thursday, the maximum temperatures fell at one or two places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, rose at a few places in rest of Coastal Andhra Pradesh. They were appreciably above normal at a few places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Nellore and Nandyal recorded the highest maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius.

The recorded maximum temperatures in Andhra Pradesh were: Bapatla 35, Kakinada 38, Kalingapatnam 34, Kavali 40, Machilipatnam 36, Nandigama 40, Narsapur 35, Nellore 42, Ongole 39, Jangamaheswarapuram 39, Tuni 39, Vijayawada 40, Visakhapatnam 36, Anantapur 40, Arogyavaram 37, Kadapa 41, Kurnool 41, Nandyal 42 and Tirupati 41.

In Telangana, the maximum temperatures rose at one or two places. They were appreciably below normal at one or two places. The highest maximum temperature of 41 degrees Celsius was recorded in Adilabad, Bhadrachalam, Hanmakonda, Khammam, Ramagundam and Nalgonda. The recordings were: Hakimpet 36, Hyderabad 38, Mahabubnagar 39, Medak 36 and Nizamabad 40.
