Reddy said on Saturday that they got phone calls from Vijayawada, Palacole and Narsapuram that a 44-member group left for Nepal from Vijayawada and another 52-member group from Narsapuram and Palacole in West Godavari district. Thirty others are from Srikakulam district.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu held a teleconference with Disaster Management Commissioner and other officials and directed them to extend all assistance to the affected States such as Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
The control room set up by the State would work 24x7 and any information about stranded Telugus would be passed on to the Ministry of External Affairs for tracing them. Some relatives of the stranded pilgrims from A.P. revealed that two of them were injured. Of the 44 stranded in Kathmandu, four were from Vijayawada, 15 from Palacole and 16 from Narsapuram in West Godavari and the remaining from East Godavari district.
