Aditya Mehta Foundation (AMF), a brainchild of para-cyclist Aditya Mehta, has provided aid to five para-athletes from across the country with sports gear, accessories and prosthetic limbs. The AMF will also initiate training camps for these athletes in cycling, swimming, cricket and badminton.

Animal rights activist Amala Akkineni and fashion designer Shilpa Reddy presented the accessories worth Rs 4.5 lakh to the beneficiaries which included Dharmana Shanmukha Rao, a below knee amputee & para cyclist; Bholanath Dalui, an above knee amputee and para-swimmer, Girish Sharma, a para-badminton player, Rakesh Banik, an above knee amputee and Harshit Mundra, a para cyclist.

The AMF training Camp will be held later this month with three para amputees Dharmana Shanmukha Rao from Hyderabad, Rakesh Banik from Assam and Harshit from Pune. Speaking about Aditya, Amala Akkineni said, “Several of us with both the legs intact don’t undertake such adventurous and treacherous rides, while he not only set out but completed them successfully. He is a true inspiration to all of us. His noble task of setting up Aditya Mehta Foundation to support fellow para-athletes is praiseworthy.”
