It was a series of unexpected events that led to Mishti Chakraborthy’s Bollywood debut ‘Kaanchi’. Not many are lucky enough to be launched by a legendary director like Subhash Ghai. “I feel very fortunate. The box-office success of the film makes no difference to me. I am blessed,” says Mishti.

Once her name was associated with the project, she was flooded with many offers. One being director A Karunakaran’s ‘Chinnadana Neekosam’. “I got many offers from south cinema. My team and I felt that this was something suitable for me and so I signed it,” she recalls.

And now, the actress is working on MS Raju production ‘Columbus’ co-starring Sumanth Ashwin and Seerat Kapoor. Throwing light on the experience of working on the film, Mishti says, “It’s an excellent team and I am enjoying the shoot. I have completed only one schedule and I am really looking forward to finish it.”

There’s one more film with MS Raju she’s all set to sign. But the damsel says she’s in no hurry to be a part of several films. “I am a person who wouldn’t sign many films at one go. I believe in doing one film at a time. Once I am nearly done with ‘Columbus’, I will think about starting some other films,” she explains.

Mishti also says that she wants to be careful with the kind of films she chooses to be a part of. “I don’t want to be typecast into particular roles. As an actor I am open to every role considering I am suitable for it,” she says. The 23-year-old is meanwhile taking things as they go. “I don’t believe in planning way ahead. I just want tomorrow to be better than today,” she signs off.
