He also blamed Ministers and MLAs who got elected from the district for turning a blind eye to the plight of farmers in the moment of crises. Speaking at a media conference organised in his residence in Nalgonda town, Sukhendar Reddy pointed out that Chandrashekar Rao, who attended a marriage function and participated in Mission Kakatiya works during his visit to the district did not bother to visit the damaged crops of the farmers.
It clearly indicated TRS government’s lack of seriousness to the woes of suffering farmers, he added. Pointing out that paddy crop in 75,000 acres and horticulture crops in 10,000 acres were damaged in the district due to unseasonal rains in the past 10 days, Sukhendar Reddy also said not only the Chief Minister, but even other TRS Ministers or MLAs who got elected from the district were least bothered about the well-being of farmers in the district.
Terming the Cabinet Minister status to the Parliamentary Secretaries as unconstitutional, the Congress M P, who filed a petition in the High Court against the decision of the State government, said as per the Constitution of India, the number of the Cabinet members should not exceed more than 15 percent of total number of the Legislative House. In addition to Ministers, the TRS government had accorded Cabinet status to six Parliamentary Secretaries. He said he had also filed a writ petition in the Court on Monday against the gazette notification issued by the government on April 23, 2015, according Cabinet status to Parliamentary Secretaries.
The Nalgonda MP also said that he would also file a petition in the High Court challenging the Cabinet Minister status accorded by TRS government to Zilla Parishad chairmen and SC Corporation Chairman. The Nalgonda MP said that since irregularities had taken place in the purchase of tractors by Agriculture department to extend help to farmers under a farm mechanisation scheme, he would move Lokayuktha.to expose the corrupt officials.
