With more than 200 cows falling ill on April 27 at a gowshala run by Gow Samrakshana Sangham in Vijayawada due to the cattle feed given after its expiry date, 21 cows died due to the food poisoning.


Police have arrested the owner of an industry which donated the cattle feed and 29 members of the gowshala were booked for negligence. Police identified the people who fed the cows on the night through the CCTV footage. While most of the cows showed recovery, many animals are still in critical condition.


With the death of cows causing an outrage, a stringent action is being demanded against the involved people and an enquiry has been ordered by the Collector of Krishna District.
