The pipes being used are made of ductile iron and have a lifespan of over 100 years. The 8 inch circumference pipes are unbreakable, rust-free and are commonly used for potable water transmission and distribution. Earlier cast iron pipes were used which have now been discarded. Water will be released from Mahendra Hills reservoir which will pass from the Karkhana reservoir. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 34.50 lakh.
