Celebrating the spirit of entrepreneurship Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences (BITS), Pilani announced Conquest 2015, an international start-up conclave for startup companies. Any idea stage start-up or a start-up registered with the Companies Act after January 1, 2013 is welcome to participate.

The registration for participation will close on May 15. In order to ensure a uniform selection process and comprehensive evaluation of the applicants, BITS Pilani is teaming up with Applyifi. Conquest 2015 explores and caters every need of a start-up - IP filing, expert mentoring and networking sessions with industry stalwarts, angel investors and leading venture capitalists.

This year Conquest aims to penetrate deeper into the Tier-II, III cities of India; which the institute believes, will be the birthplace of the next startup revolution in the country. Srikanth Garimella, lead coordinator, Conquest 2015, said, “We believe that great ideas are sprouting in the remotest corners of the country and we aim to expose them to the world.

Therefore, this year the conclave is scaling the Tier II and II cities of our country for the ideas that can reshape the world by connecting with over 40 organisations who are actively engaged with the start-ups in these cities.” All 10 finalists of Conquest 2013 are successful registered ventures now.

iTraveller (runner up-Conquest 2013) raised $100K immediately after Conquest 2013 and recently a million dollar as series-A funding. This year’s event’s grand finale will be in New Delhi on September 6. During mid-June, the top 50 shortlisted contestants will be announced online, followed by mentoring sessions in various cities.
