He further said that a convention centre would be constructed at a cost of Rs 45 crore in Rajahmundry.

Rajahmundry: Nandi Natakotsavalu could be used as rehearsals for ensuing Godavari Pushkarams, HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said here on Thursday. He maintained that Pushkarams could be conducted flawlessly by identifying lapses in the ongoing Nandi Natakotsavams. He further said that a convention centre would be constructed at a cost of Rs 45 crore in Rajahmundry.


It will be able to accommodate 2,500 persons. The Minister added that the State government has earmarked Rs 100 crore for the development of Kuchipudi Kalapeetham. He along with Minister for Health Kamineni Srinivasa Rao presented mementoes for the artistes at Nandi Natakotsavams in Rajahmundry.

Speaking on the occasion, Kamineni Srininasa Rao stressed the need for preserving the cultural heritage of the historic town of Rajahmundry. He mentioned that all necessary arrangements would be made to provide medical services to pilgrims during Pushkarams.

Rajahmundry MP M Murali Mohan informed that the Nandi Natakotsavams would conclude on May 30 and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would present awards, rewards and mementoes to the winners. Rajahmundry city MLA Dr Akula Satyanarayana, Rajahmundry rural MLA Gorantla Butchaiah Choudary, Mayor Pantam Rajani Sesha Sai and DPRO M Francis were present on the occasion.
