Minister distributes mopeds, iceboxes to 300 fishermen
Civil Supplies Minister Paritala Sunitha said on Thursday that Telugu Desam government has been making relentless efforts for the welfare of fishermen in the State. She distributed mopeds and iceboxes to fishermen at office premises of the Assistant Director of Fisheries.
Anantapur: Civil Supplies Minister Paritala Sunitha said on Thursday that Telugu Desam government has been making relentless efforts for the welfare of fishermen in the State. She distributed mopeds and iceboxes to fishermen at office premises of the Assistant Director of Fisheries.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that mopeds and iceboxes were distributed to 300 fishermen belonging to Fishermen Cooperative Societies of Rapthadu, Singanamala, Guntakal, Rayadurg and Kalyandurg in the first phase.Sunitha said the State government has sanctioned Rs 7.5 lakh for construction of fish markets at Singanamala, Peruru and Dharmavaram.
She stated that fishermen, who are above 50 years, are seeking pensions for them. The Minister assured that she would take up the matter with the Chief Minister. She instructed officials concerned to keep fish tanks clean.The Minister mentioned that the government has been taking measures to control spiralling prices of essential commodities. ZPTC Venugopal, RDO Hussain Saheb, District Fisheries Cooperative Association president Bala Narasimhulu and other officials were present.
