He said that the additional 640 vehicles, which were deployed to lift the garbage/ debris and other waste material in the five-day programme, would be used for lifting of the waste materials in the coming days.

Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner & Special Officer Somesh Kumar told the media on Thursday that the Swachh Hyderabad would be a continuous programme. He said that the additional 640 vehicles, which were deployed to lift the garbage/ debris and other waste material in the five-day programme, would be used for lifting of the waste materials in the coming days.


The Commissioner said that in spite of high temperature, 400 Swachh unit teams had worked hard and made the programme a grand success. In the Swachh Hyderabad programme, nearly 40,185 metric tons of garbage waste had been lifted so far.He appealed the citizens to call on GHMC Call Centre (040 – 21111111) to inform about the accumulated garbage in their localities. With the help of 500 instant repairing teams, more than 16,000 works had been taken up.


The 400 instant repairing teams would work till Saturday and each of the 24 engineering divisions would have one instant repairing machines, he said. The Commissioner said that Rs 612 crore proposals and representations on 7,328 works had been received and the same would be taken up. During the programme, the Chief Minister had visited 7 different localities and announced that 2-bedroom flats would be constructed for the needy.

HMWSSB MD reviews Swachh Hyderabad

Managing Director of HMWSSB M Jagadeeshwar who had covered 14 colonies by Padayatra as Mentor of Madhapur area during the last five days, reviewed the progress the Swachh Telangana – Swachh Hyderabad programme at Ayyappa Society Cultural Hall on Thursday. He discussed with members representing the localities on the continuous and sustained action plan for solving the civic problems in Madhapur area.
