TRS confident of winning 5 MLC seats
Voting has become inevitable in MLC elections under MLA quota in Telangana with number of candidates entering the fray were more than the number of seats going for the election. As expected the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) fielded five candidates-Tummala Nageshwara Rao, Kadiyam Srihari, Nethi Vidyasagar, K Yadava Reddy and Bodakunti Venkateshwarlu for the election slated for June 1.

As expected the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) fielded five candidates-Tummala Nageshwara Rao, Kadiyam Srihari, Nethi Vidyasagar, K Yadava Reddy and Bodakunti Venkateshwarlu for the election slated for June 1.
TRS camp is extremely confident of victory for all its candidates. The ruling party held extensive deliberations whether or not to field five candidates and hence delayed making an official announcement. After getting assurance from its allies including MIM, the ruling party conveyed its decision to field fifth candidate.
All of them turned up at Telangana Martyrs Statue, Gunpark and offered floral tributes, before heading straight into Assembly premises to file nominations around 11am, on Thursday. K Chandrashekar Rao’s loyalist Prof. Srinivas Reddy, who missed out at the eleventh hour is likely to be sent to the legislative council under Governor’s quota.
The ruling party is extremely confident of victory of all its candidates and Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari stated the same. Kadiyam pointed out that he would tender resignation to Warangal MP seat within one week after getting elected to the Council.
TRS’s existing strength after merger of two BSP candidates into the party is 65. Four each from Congress and TDP another two from YSR Congress crossed fence into the ruling party taking its overall tally to 75. It is banking on support from MIM (7), Left (2) and YSRC (1) which would mean it has a total support of 85 members in the 119-member Assembly.
TRS senior leaders feel that win for all its five candidates would be a cakewalk in view of support of 85 members. According to them, the alarm bells, if any, should sound in Congress and TDP camps. The choice of the MLC candidate and other factors might result members
