APCC plans protest on May 26
The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) would organise Statewide protest on May 26 to highlight betrayal by the NDA government led by BJP in according Special Status to the State. It would coincide with celebrations planned by the BJP on the occasion of completing one year in office.

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) would organise Statewide protest on May 26 to highlight betrayal by the NDA government led by BJP in according Special Status to the State. It would coincide with celebrations planned by the BJP on the occasion of completing one year in office.
Speaking to media persons here on Saturday, APCC president N Raghuveera Reddy said the party would set on fire the election manifesto of the BJP in all Assembly constituencies across the State. He said the BJP had promised confer Special Status on the State for 10 years and grant special funds for backward districts of Rayalaseema and Uttarandra.

Apart from it, the BJP also promised to reimburse revenue deficit arising out bifurcation of the State, he said. The BJP, after coming to power, had reneged on its promises and fulfilled not even one promise, he said. The APCC chief said the BJP led by Narendra Modi had promised to bring back the black money in 100 days.
However, even after 364 days, the party had failed to get even single rupee of black money from the foreign banks, he said. He also criticised the BJP government for its failure to bring down the prices of essential commodities in 100 days. The prices of all essential commodities had gone up alarmingly, he said.
He recalled that the petrol and diesel prices were at Rs 75 and Rs 57 a litre respectively during the UPA government when the crude oil price was at $ 145. However in the past one year, the crude oil price in the international market had come down to $ 60 dollars, he said, but the Modi government kept the price of petrol at Rs 75 per liter and diesel at Rs 59 a litre.
He accused the NDA government of being pro-corporate and anti-people. The APCC vice-president Devineni Rajasekhar Nehru, senior Congress leaders L Eswara Rao, Malladi Vishnu, Kadiyala Butchi Babu, Kolanukonda Sivaji, Akula Srinivas Kumar, Meesala Rajeswara Rao, Devineni Avinash, Badita Shankar and others were present at the news conference.
