Committee On Fee Hike Issue Holds Its First Meeting. Fee hike by private schools in Gurgaon and Faridabad has been \"quite high\" in the last few years as they have been violating rules set by their respective authorities, a committee constituted to resolve the issue said today.

Faridabad (Har): Fee hike by private schools in Gurgaon and Faridabad has been "quite high" in the last few years as they have been violating rules set by their respective authorities, a committee constituted to resolve the issue said today.

The first meeting of 'Fees and Fund Regulatory Committee', constituted under the provisions of Haryana School Education Act 1995, was held in Gurgaon today with the aim to come up with a formula for fee hike in private schools.

Gurgaon's Divisional Commissioner D Suresh headed the committee meeting which was attended by District Education Officers of Faridabad and Gurgaon, representatives of Haryana Parents Association and Association of Private Schools.

After going through documents submitted by the 'Haryana Abhivavak Ekta Manch', Suresh said, "The fee hike in the recent years has been quite high and the private schools are violating the rules set by their respective authorities."

He urged the representatives of private schools not to make education a "business" and called for school-wise details on violations of rules so that necessary action can be taken.

"The schools should follow rules laid down by Haryana Urban Development Authority, Central Board of Secondary Education and other guidelines by the education department," the Gurgaon Divisional Commissioner said.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had directed Faridabad Deputy Commissioner Dr Amit Kumar Agrawal for early resolution of the issue after the Parents Association had protested against the fee hike before him recently.
