Naidu faces yet another taunt

Hyderabad/Vizianagaram: After AP Deputy Chief Minister K E Krishnamurthy taking a jibe at Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, another senior leader and Nellimarla MLA Pathivada Narayana Swamy Naidu on Sunday followed it up by making sarcastic remarks against the party chief.

Narayana Swamy took a potshot at Naidu while addressing the party workers at Mini Mahanadu in Vizianagaram on Sunday. He was critical of the leadership for not providing any clarity on establishing medical college in the district. “The people and leaders of Vizianagaram are soft and sincere, they never questioned the government in any manner even they are not given priority. So we are being neglected in political and developmental aspects.

The government should establish a medical college in the backward Vizianagaram district. Previously the ministers have assured that the government is going to establish a medical college in the district. But later the government has stated that it would set up the institute under the private management. So far there is no clarity in this aspect.” he said.

While contacted, the senior Legislator said, “Yes. I have raised the public issue. It is not my personal issue. I am here to work for the welfare of the public. The government should establish a government medical college here. If they set up a private institute what is the use of it? Can a poor, lower middle class student afford the fee there?”

The remarks were interpreted as taking a jibe at Naidu. It may be recalled that Narayanaswami Naidu, who worked as a minister in Chandrabau Naidu Cabinet during 1999-2004, was not offered any important role this time.
