Telangana is all set to be introduced to the Smart Card system that would replace multiple cards with a single card and can be used as an identity proof, access control to professional work places, debit card and pre-paid transportation ticket card.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is determined to introduce this system in the state and has directed the delegation from Hitachi Solutions to explore the possibility of an all-in-one Smart Card. The service is expected to be implemented first in Hyderabad and later expand to Khammam, Karimnagar and Warangal.
Hitachi India is partnering with the state government to set up a manufacturing unit in the state.=
