Youngsters enjoying the European snack

The most common breakfast of the Europeans are often eaten with jam, butter, chocolate, caramel, strawberry, mango and other crushes and fruit flavours. These can also be taken as desserts with ice cream and fruit salad. Belgian waffles are world famous.

A waffle joint which came up at a mall on Mahatma Gandhi Road in the city, has become an instant hit among food lovers. Waffles are served like sandwiches with vegetable spice spread and chicken masala spread to suit the local tastes of people at the food joint.

Waffle joint owner Tiruvaipati Venkatesh said, “I first tasted waffles in Singapore. I set up the waffle joint in the city with an intention to introduce the popular western delicacy to food connoisseurs.

It has been over a month now and the joint is getting a good number of customers. Foodies who tasted waffles are frequenting the joint. Now, I am planning to set up waffle kiosks at major commercial centres in the city to further popularise it.”
