It’s curtains for Garden Restaurant

When Surya Sainath, a resident of West Marredpally reached Garden Restaurant at 3 pm for his customary Irani chai on Monday, he was in for a shock. Mohammed Ali, the man who has been serving chai for the last 30 years informed him that they stopped serving tea as the demolition work started.

Though the talk of Garden going under the bulldozer has been making the rounds, the restaurant management did not expect the authorities to swoop them down on Monday. Daryush Adil, the owner, said, “They could have at least informed us well in advance. Also the demolition work is going on in piece meal manner; it is causing a lot of inconvenience.”
