In order to provide carbide and residue free Banganapally mangoes, efresh Portal (P) Limited and Village Organics have embarked on a project for marketing safe and quality mangoes to the consumers under the Brand OMANG. The Brand OMANG was launched at an event here. VVV Satyanarayana CGM, National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development (Nabard) was the chief guest for the event.

Hyderabad: In order to provide carbide and residue free Banganapally mangoes, efresh Portal (P) Limited and Village Organics have embarked on a project for marketing safe and quality mangoes to the consumers under the Brand OMANG. The Brand OMANG was launched at an event here. VVV Satyanarayana CGM, National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development (Nabard) was the chief guest for the event.


The OMANG was launched in cooperation with the farmers of PACS, Jagtiyal, Karimnagar districts to provide consumers chemical free mangoes. The initiative is being supported by the Nabard. For the first time in the State of Telangana, farmers of primary agricultural cooperative society, Jagtiyal are directly linked to the consumers through the branding.


According to Srihari Kotela, Managing Director, efresh Portal, the mangoes are directly procured from the farmers implementing Good Agricultural Practices and are tested for the residues in the government approved laboratory. The mangoes are handpicked for its taste quality, safety and packed in two kg boxes and branded.


The pilot project is initiated with the objective of facilitating the availability of quality, safe mangoes to the consumers and also to enhance the income of the farmers. This initiative would be extend for large number of farmers and for popular fruits and cereals.
