Construction of homes for poor to begin on Telangana Formation Day
A major sop has been approved by the Telangana Cabinet on Tuesday for the homeless in the state and the construction of 2BHK houses will be launched on the first anniversary of Telangana State Formation Day which falls on June 2.

With a built up area of about 570 sq ft, including a toilet, the 2BHK houses – a major TRS poll promise will be launched in selected mandals in all the Assembly constituencies.
Based on the survey conducted by the state government in August last year, the beneficiaries would be selected by the district collectors and the expenditure is estimated for each 2BHK house to Rs 9 lakh in cities while in semi-urban and rural areas, it is estimated to be Rs 7 lakh.
The tenders for constructing houses will take place through open bidding process. Although the Cabinet was expected to announce other sops like job notifications, etc but due to the procedural hurdles, they have been put on hold.
