The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has decided that the Sports Authority of India (SAI) will take care of all the matters relating to para-athletes, including the selection of athletes for various sporting events, conduct of coaching camps, and submission of entries of para-athletes in international tournaments, till further orders.

In order to protect the interest of Para-athletes in the country, the ministry has already requested International Paralympic Committee (IPC) to take certain steps, including permitting SAI to send entries of para-athletes of the country to international competitions.
