Zoomcar drives into city
If you are looking to enjoy the pleasure of driving a rental car yourself, here is a good opportunity. Zoomcar, a pioneer in self-drive car rental space, has launched its operations in the city with a fleet of 30 cars. In the city, the Bengaluru-based startup is offering a range of cars from Ford Figo and Ecosport SUV to Mahindra XUV500 on rental. Soon, it will also offer luxury cars such as BMW 3 Series and Mercedes Benz A Class.

Hyderabad: If you are looking to enjoy the pleasure of driving a rental car yourself, here is a good opportunity. Zoomcar, a pioneer in self-drive car rental space, has launched its operations in the city with a fleet of 30 cars. In the city, the Bengaluru-based startup is offering a range of cars from Ford Figo and Ecosport SUV to Mahindra XUV500 on rental. Soon, it will also offer luxury cars such as BMW 3 Series and Mercedes Benz A Class.
“Customers can book the vehicle of their choice, walk into any of our six pick-up locations in the city and drive away in the vehicle,” Greg Moran, co-founder, Zoomcar, told media here after launching the services. The company charges on hourly basis with tariff ranging from Rs 80 per hour for Ford Figo to Rs 140 an hour for Mahindra XUV. The charges include a part of fuel consumed and insurance.
“We provide free fuel for 10 km of drive for every hour a customer rents our self-drive car. After that we charge extra for fuel,” he explained. As the company expects the self-drive car services to take off in the city, it’s gearing up to expand the fleet to 1,000 cars in phases. “Being one of the most modern and cosmopolitan cities of India, we are confident that our service will generate a lot of interest among the youth and working class families in Hyderabad,” Moran maintained.
