Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday wrote a letter to Union Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan to release 20 lakh LPG connections under Corporate Social Responsibility scheme of oil companies including IOCL, BPCL and HPCL and help increase the coverage of LPG in the fledgling State which took birth on June 2 last year.

The Chief Minister stated, “Telangana State was formed on June 2 last year after a long struggle over the years and people of Telangana now have great aspirations for building ‘Bangaru (Golden) Telangana’. With this objective, our government has launched various schemes for the common man, particularly poor for making available their basic needs.

In this connection, I also want to give 100 percent coverage with LPG connections to every BPL households as this will obviate the drudgery of burning firewood that not only damages their health but also damages the environment”.
