Telugu Desam Party’s 34th Mahanadu began on a grand note at Gandipet in Ranga Reddy district on Wednesday with party supremo and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu entered the venue by carrying a “Bonam” on his head. Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated a photo exhibition and a blood donation camp at the venue amidst a colorful cultural programme highlighting the rich traditions of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States.

Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party’s 34th Mahanadu began on a grand note at Gandipet in Ranga Reddy district on Wednesday with party supremo and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu entered the venue by carrying a “Bonam” on his head. Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated a photo exhibition and a blood donation camp at the venue amidst a colorful cultural programme highlighting the rich traditions of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States.


He also hoisted the party flag and paid homage to party founder late Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao.Party’s top functionaries, including party president’s son and TDP Workers Welfare Fund coordinator Nara Lokesh, cine actors Nandamuri Balakrishna and Nandamuri Harikrishna, AP ministers in the Union government, State ministers, MPs and legislators from both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, participated in the Mahanadu.


The party activists from both Telugu States started pouring into the city since early morning to turn up at the Mahanadu. AP minister Ravela Kishore Babu joined the cultural artistes in drumming and dancing at the venue. Nara Lokesh was the centre of attraction. He freely mingled with party workers and personally supervised the arrangements. The party leaders competed with other to shake hands with Lokesh.


Gandipet area turned yellow with party flags, banners, welcome arches and cut-outs of party leaders. The party has made elaborate arrangements for supply drinking water in view of the heat wave. Addressing the gathering party president N Chandrababu Naidu said TRS and Congress had conspired to decimate TDP in Telagnana, but people were behind the party because they recognised the fact that it was TDP which had developed Telangana during its rule. Telangana state achieved surplus Revenue status in the post-bifurcation scenario as a result of the policies adopted by the then TDP government, he added.
