Kolkata: Hours after Priyanka Gandhi took on HRD minister Smriti Irani on her "hollow promises" jibe, the BJP leader hit back saying the Congress leader had absolutely no idea what was going on in her brother's constituency.
"I am of the opinion that Mrs.Vadra hasn't done her homework. There is an off campus of IIIT Allahabad in Amethi," Irani said at a press meet in Kolkata, responding to Priyanka's query on what was stopping the HRD Minister from setting up an IIIT here. "It is astounding that while the Gandhi family has ruled that bastion (Amethi) for 60 years they have done nothing," she said.
Priyanka, who is on a two-day visit to her mother Sonia Gandhi's constituency, rubbished Irani's accusations and said since she (Irani) is now the Education Minister, what was the hassle in setting up IIIT in Rae Bareli as promised during UPA regime.
