GHMC plans big for TS Formation Day fete
GHMC Commissioner and Special Officer Somesh Kumar said that the GHMC has decided to celebrate Telangana State Formation Day in a grand manner. Somesh said colorful illumination would be put-up in all heritage and important buildings. About 100 main junctions in the city will be decorated. Competitions in various fields will be conducted for all Self Help groups in the city.

Prabhath Bheris will be organised in all 400 Swachh Units, involving local youth, RWAs and sportsmen. Sahapankthi Bhojanalu would be planned for all the 400 Swachh Units between 11.00 amto 2.00 pm for one lakh people. A big human chain will be organised from Tank Bund to Necklace Road with the participation of all the GHMC staff and the sanitation workers.
Three tableaux were prepared on Swachh Hyderabad theme for display on June 2 at Parade Ground. Photography competition on “Hyderabad”, 30-second short film on ‘Swachh Hyderabad’ and three-minute group song competitions will also be held. Cash prizes (1st) Rs. 50,000/; 2nd Prize Rs. 25,000/-; 3rd Rs. 10,000/; 4th - Rs. 5,000/-; 5th Rs. 3,000/- and 20 consolation prizes of Rs. 1,000 each will be given separately in all three categories. Sports competitions will also be conducted in collaboration with the Olympic Association of Telangana.
