Youth sore over lack of jobs, unemployment dole
Unemployed youth are fuming at the TDP government for failing to implement its pre-election promise of creating jobs and handing out stipend to them. They are particularly nursing a feeling of anger against the government because it has so for not even initiated steps towards fulfilling its promise.

A huge number of graduates and postgraduates have waited patiently with a fond hope that the government would fulfil its promise. But no positive signals are in sight so far, the youth bemoan. The youth recall that TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, during his election campaign, promised to create at least one job in each family and pay stipend of Rs 1,000 a month, but the authorities have not yet taken any step towards this end.
On the contrary, the government is in fact scheming to terminate services of employees working on outsourcing arrangement. There is no notification so far to fill the vacancies in the government services. The youth are showing signs of disenchantment with the government promise to make Visakhapatnam as software hub not bearing fruit.
P Sridevi, a postgraduate student in Andhra University, said “If the government pay stipend to postgraduates likes us, it would help the students from poor background to pursue higher studies. But the AP government claims that it is facing financial crisis now. The TDP shouted from rooftops that Naidu, if came to power, he would create lakhs of jobs.
But, none of the promise materialised so far.” K Siva Naidu, a B.Tech graduate in Vizianagaram said “I have been waiting for the job either in government or private sector but so far it is not in sight. I am offered jobs in call centres or as a salesman or other unskilled jobs.”
Bobbili MLA R V S K Ranga Rao said “The government is not taking steps to provide employment opportunities to the youth. So far, the Andhra Pradesh Public Service commission has not issued even a single notification to recruit the staff in government sector. Though some private industries are providing the jobs, they are offering low salaries to skilled workers.” P Ramya, a pharmacy graduate said she had hopes of bright future for unemployed youth. But, her hopes turned to fear and uncertainty, she said.
