Explaining the significance of the fortnight, DRM Ashok Kumar invited suggestions from the associations to further improve passenger amenities in the Vijayawada Railway Division. He also appealed to social organisations and philanthropists to donate water coolers to the railway division to quench the thirst of passengers of general compartments.

The introduction of a circular train service connecting Vijayawada, Tenali and Guntur was mooted for the convenience of people in the capital region. It was also proposed to run the Chennai-Jodhpur Weekly Express twice or thrice a week keeping in view the passenger rush on the route.


The DRM welcomed the suggestion of holding a coordination meeting between the railway officials and leaders of passenger associations once in three months hereafter to focus on development of train services and passenger amenities in the division.
