Hyderabad: The Sheila Bhide committee has directed the APSRTC management to submit audited accounts and the Demerger plan of the corporation by the end of July 2015. Officials representing Andhra Pradesh on Friday sought three more months for division of assets between the two states. Allocation of employees was almost completed and officials and employees on the either side of divide were deeply divided over sharing of assets and liabilities of the undivided corporation.

Speaking to The Hans India, JMD Ramana Rao said the Sheila Bhide committee meeting had nothing to do with the formal incorporation of TSRTC scheduled for June 3. However, Telangana Mazdoor Union leaders were unhappy at the decisions taken by the committee.

In a memorandum submitted to the Committee, TMU Working President and Convener of Telangana Public Sector Employees’ JAC Thomas Reddy pointed out that the committee was formed by the Centre in order to oversee the bifurcation of Schedule IX corporations within a year from the Appointed Day, June 2. The committee should speed up the bifurcation of corporations in right earnest, he said in the memorandum.

TMU leaders also accused some ‘Seemandhra’ officers of throwing spanners in the works related to RTC bifurcation from the beginning. They are particularly sore over the role allegedly played by Financial Advisor Bhuvaneshwar Prasad. TMU leaders accused Prasad of misleading the current MD Sambasiva Rao and his immediate predecessor J.Purnachandra Rao on all matters related to functioning of RTC.

TMU leaders alleged that the Jawahar consultative committee was appointed to audit the finances of APSRTC purely at the behest of Financial Advisor Prasad. TMU leaders have differed with the recommendations of the Jawahar committee, which called for sharing of three main assets, namely, Bus Bhavan, Bus Building Unit at Miyapur and the RTC Hospital at Tarnaka. TMU leaders demanded suspension of Prasad and revocation of the Jawahar committee.
