Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras at Lucid Diagnostics on Road No 2 in Banjara Hills helped the police on Saturday solve the theft of gold, diamond jewellery and cash from the house of Vishal Pitti, a businessman on May 25.The Banjara Hills police arrested a fashion designer, Sunita Vyas alias Tina, 23, a resident of Begum Bazar, after the video footage recorded by the cameras showed her taking away the booty in a white-coloured bag in a suspicious manner.


The cops recovered stolen property worth Rs 11 lakh from her possession. “After capturing the footage, photographs were circulated within the community and to all nearby police stations,” DCP (West) A Venkateswara Rao said adding that the alert staff recognised her and called the police.


Vishal Pitti along with his wife went for a morning walk on May 25 and when he returned to his Rao & Raju Colony residence on Road No 2, he found valuables were missing. He immediately alerted the police who in turn formed special teams to nab the culprits, the DCP said.
