Raghuveera tries to get Vundavalli, Kiran back into Congress fold. The Congress, which is facing an uphill task in Andhra Pradesh to resurrect itself, particularly in the absence of a strong leadership, is now exploring the possibility of getting back some of its important leaders who had left the party soon after the bifurcation of the State.

Kakinada: The Congress, which is facing an uphill task in Andhra Pradesh to resurrect itself, particularly in the absence of a strong leadership, is now exploring the possibility of getting back some of its important leaders who had left the party soon after the bifurcation of the State. According to party sources, the exit of Botcha Satyanarayana has forced the party to speed up the process.
It is learnt that the party is making all out efforts to win over Vundavalli Arun Kumar, who was once considered to be close to the AICC president Sonia Gandhi and the former Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. Making some quick moves in this direction, APCC president N Raghuveera Reddy is said to have sent some emissaries to both Arun Kumar and N Kiran Kumar Reddy, and urged them to return to the party fold.
The APCC emissary is said to have met Arun Kumar on Saturday. But, it is said that Arun Kumar politely turned down the offer and expressed his desire to stay away from partisan politics for the time being. However, it is understood that both Vundavalli and Arun Kumar and N Kiran Kumar Reddy are inclined to join BJP soon. Speculations are rife that Kiran has been assured of a berth in the Union Cabinet during the next re-shuffle.
