Hyderabad: Telangana State government on Wednesday showcased the ecological features of Hyderabad to a 44-member French delegation led by Paul Hermelin, Special Representative for Economic Relations with India and Francois Richier, Ambassador of France in India.


The Industries Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, who met the delegation, stated that Telangana State had emerged as No. 1 destination in the country for setting up industries as it is located in Deccan plateau with minimal exposure to earthquakes and has best weather conditions.


He also explained to the delegation about the single window policy and said that the government would roll out red carpet for industrialists. The entire process of granting approvals for industries would be completed within 15 days, he told the delegation.

He said many major IT companies like WIPRO, Infosys, Microsoft, TCS had established their offices and many others were in process of setting up their offices in Hyderabad.


Reputed Pharma companies had also come forward for setting up of their offices in the Telangana State. The Minister appealed to the delegation to establish industries and strengthen the relations further. He also stated that the Indo-French relations would improve bilaterally with the French setting shops in Telangana State and hoped that in future when the French visited Telangana sTate they would feel as if they are in Paris.


Francois Richier, Ambassador of France in India, remarked that the interaction was an excellent platform for exchange of ideas and understanding. He said this would lead to better economic development and cooperation in various fields. He felt that this was a good initiation and would pave way for better investments in Telangana State.


Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma said the Telangana State government had initiated many flagship programs duly focussing on urban infra projects, uninterrupted power supply, Telangana State Drinking Water Supply Project and implementing many welfare programs for the poor.


Assuring safety and security of the people, the government had kept focussing its attention by giving top priority on ensuring public safety duly placing high security cameras at all vulnerable places, he said. He stressed the need for opportunities in waste management, improvement in public transport system and so on.

Heads of various Multimodal Transport systems like Alstorm Transport, Dassault Systems, Egis, Jcdecaux, Keolis, Lumiplan, Poma Group, Ratp Transdev, systra, Thales, vossloh Cogifer, Energy and Power companies like ACME, Citelum, Engie (GDF SUEZ), Schneider Electric, Total India, Solairedirect, Egis, French companies representing Planning and Urban Design & Security, Information and communication, Housing and Building took part in the meeting.
