Public meeting dais collapses in Guwahati: Union Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, 15 others hurt

Union Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and other 15 persons were injured when a dais of BJP Yuva Marcha public meeting in Assam's Dibrugarh district on Monday.
The incident happened at the end of the meeting when more than 100 people gathered at the dais to meet the Union minister which designed for 25 people could not take weight of excess people and caved.
Sarbananda Sonowal had received a injury to his back and a doctor team had checked him.
"Doctor advised him to in rest and did not require to admit in hospital, " BJP MLA Prasanta Phukan said.
"When the dais collapsed, state BJP unit president Siddhartha Bhattacharya, MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, Rameswar Teli and other leaders of the saffron party were on the dias, " the BJP MLA said.
BJP Yuva Marcha National president and MP Anurag Thakur had left before 30 minutes ago when the dais caved.
Several injured persons had admitted at nearest hospital.
