Web counselling for Engg from today
The impasse over engineering admissions has finally come to an end. The counselling for engineering admissions will commence on Friday (July 17). The schedule was announced by Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari at a press conference here on Thursday.
Hyderabad: The impasse over engineering admissions has finally come to an end. The counselling for engineering admissions will commence on Friday (July 17). The schedule was announced by Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari at a press conference here on Thursday.
As per the schedule, the candidates who participated in the certificate verification, can exercise their online web options from July 17 from 5 pm to July 21. These candidates can change their frozen web options on July 22 and data process will be done on July 23. The seats will be allotted on July 24 and candidates have to report to their respective colleges from July 25 to 27.
The final phase of counselling will be done on July 29 and 30. Candidates who have not got their certificate verification done in the first phase counselling can participate in the verification process on July 29 and can exercise web options and change of options on July 29 and 30.
The final phase of seat allotment will be done on July 31. The candidates have to report to the colleges on August 1 and classes will commence on the same day. The minister said the counselling for the colleges will be done category wise: In the first category, counseling will be done for 220 colleges which are already affiliated to JNTU-H.
In the second category, counselling for 120 colleges which moved the High Court for affiliation will take place and in the third category counseling for all those colleges which did not move the court but still want fresh inspections for affiliations to certain courses will take place.
He said of the 120 colleges which moved the court, 73 colleges have voluntarily asked the JNTU-H not to inspect their colleges. Kadiyam said that non-petitioner colleges who want to go for fresh inspections can register with JNTU-H. The minister stated that list of colleges under three categories would be placed on the JNTU-H and Eamcet websites.
He made it clear that those admissions made under category two and three colleges are subject to the High Court’s final verdict.
This year, a total of 271 colleges will be placed for web counselling for admissions. Though there are 82,000 seats, only 66,330 candidates have got their certificates verified.
