Three hilarious playlets were staged on the concluding day of the 20th comedy playlet competitions, which was organised by Sumadhura Kala Niketan. The competitions were held with the assistance of Andhra Pradesh State Film, TV and Theatre Development Corporation in Tummalapalli Kshetrayya Kala Kshetram.

A summary of the various playlets presented and awards conferred include: “My Name is Sitalu”, written by SA Rao and directed by Munnangi Kusuma who also bagged special jury prize in the competitions. The second playlet, “Gantaku Tagga Bonta” was presented by Malladi Creations, Hyderabad.

This was written by Malladi Ravi Kiran and directed by T. Sri Lakshmi. This play won several awards including best production and best script, among others. Sumadhura Kala Niketan staged a playlet namely “Maa Intiki Randi” written by Abdul Khuddus and directed by BRS Prakash.

P. Mohaneswara Rao won the best actor award for his performance in the palylet “Khel Kahatam, Dukaan Bandh”. The best music award went to “Sitapati” and the special jury award was conferred to SNP Prasad. As part of the 42nd annual celebrations, the Jandhyala Memorial Award was presented to a noted film actor, Ali.
