A machine that undertakes work of 60 labourers

Construction equipments company Doosan Infracore India Private Limited has launched another hydrostatic machine for pre – plantations with a single manpower. Doosan’s CEO Madhusudan Katragadda said, “This machine which is named Bobcat is used to drill holes of 15 to 90 CM diameter with plumb – line accuracy within a few minutes.”

He also mentioned that a single Bobcat machine can undertake the work of 60 labourers at a time. It is highly used for pre – planting purpose and digs five meters in less than two minutes. Bobcat costs around Rs 26 lakh including each attachment which varies from two to three lakh and consumes 4 – 5 litres of diesel per hour.

Bobcat includes seventy different attachments which help in digging and drilling for different soil conditions such as standard bit (charcoal) which digs clay and sandy soils for 1,245 mm length; heavy duty bit (orange) which is used for hard ground, hardpan, caliche, asphalt and frozen ground; rock bit (white) used for fracturable rock, asphalt and hard soil with rocks and many others. This machine would dig 1473 mm to 1575 mm and weighs around 2,240 kg.
