Applications for garbage tippers invited
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has decided to take forward the scheme of 2,500 four-wheeler auto tippers through Swachh Driver-cum-Owner (DCO) scheme to ensure door-to-door collection of garbage and shifting it to the transfer stations.
Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has decided to take forward the scheme of 2,500 four-wheeler auto tippers through Swachh Driver-cum-Owner (DCO) scheme to ensure door-to-door collection of garbage and shifting it to the transfer stations.
The GHMC officials said that interested youths can approach the citizen service centres (CSC) to collect the application form and also can download it from official website www.ghmc.gov.in. They also added that a driving licence along with Aadhaar card, voter ID and a passport photo should be attached with the application and submitted to the concerned deputy commissioner.
Each Swachh DCO will cover about 600 to 800 households and Rs 50 would be charged to collect garbage, the GHMC officials said. Each Swachh DCO would get around Rs 25,000 as fee from houses. The officials said that GHMC would help the selected applicants in getting bank loans, subsidies, and also provide contribution towards EMI. They also said citizens between 21 and 50 years were eligible for this scheme.
