PR staff unrest will put out Grama Jyothi. Welcoming the ‘Grama Jyothi’ scheme of Telangana state government, deputy floor leader of Congress party T Jeevan Reddy commented that the scheme’s objective will be achieved only if the government first solves problems of gram panchayat workers.

Hyderabad: Welcoming the ‘Grama Jyothi’ scheme of Telangana state government, deputy floor leader of Congress party T Jeevan Reddy commented that the scheme’s objective will be achieved only if the government first solves problems of gram panchayat workers.
Speaking to the media at the Assembly premises here on Thursday, he criticised the government for not addressing the grievances of the gram panchayat workers even though they have been in strike for the past two months.
He wondered how the scheme would attain its objective if the workers fail to get what they deserved. “If the government fails take the burden of the gram panchayat functioning, this scheme would be a failure,” cautioned Jeevan Reddy.
He alleged that the government of coming out with ‘Grama Jyothi’ scheme for the sake of publicity as he found no seriousness in its implementation. “The government must first streamline the workforce and revenue of the gram panchayats for implementing such ideas,” said the Congress leader said.
