Speaking on the occasion, DTF state president P Krishnaiah said, “Human Resource Development (HRD) minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao should take immediate measures to formulate unified service rules, fill vacant posts, implement the Pay Revision Commission report for teachers and extend all other service benefits to them.”

”The move to set up cluster schools should be given up as it would be detrimental to the interests of rural students,” he said. Other demands by DTP include upgradation of physical education teacher and language pandit posts, sanction of notional increments for special teachers and improvement of basic amenities in government schools.

DTF founder president S Lakshma Reddy, vice-president K Dharma Rao, general secretary NV Ramanaiah, AP Vidya Parirakshana committee convener Ramesh Patnaik and others took part in the dharna. AP Non-Gazetted Officers (APNGOs) association and West Krishna president A Vidya Sagar extended their support for the cause.
