Honouring poet-laureate Cinare. Kinnera Arts Theatres organised the 85th birthday of Indian poet C Narayana Reddy (CINARE) at Ravindra Bharathi on Friday. The event started with popular songs of C Narayana Reddy sung by Kanna Rao, Suresh, Karthik, Hari Priya, Ragamai, Sampath, Shruthika, Thrinadha Rao and Sharadha Sai; who enthralled the audience.

Kinnera Arts Theatres organised the 85th birthday of Indian poet C Narayana Reddy (CINARE) at Ravindra Bharathi on Friday. The event started with popular songs of C Narayana Reddy sung by Kanna Rao, Suresh, Karthik, Hari Priya, Ragamai, Sampath, Shruthika, Thrinadha Rao and Sharadha Sai; who enthralled the audience.

Some of the songs that were performed include ‘Bale Manchi Roju’, ‘Chirunavvuloni Haayi’, ‘Neelo Nenai Nalo Neevai’, ‘Shruthi Neevu Gathi Neevu’, ‘Vatapatra Sayiki Varahala Lali’ and ‘Kilakila Navvenu’. The event also witnessed the release of the book, ‘CINARE ABHIMANIGA’ by Maddali Raghuram, by actress Jamuna.

Speaking on the event, Rajya Sabha member T Subbarami Reddy said, “He was my teacher in Nizam College 55 years ago. In his songs there is always humanity and divinity included. He is a great human being and he always encouraged me. 9 crore Telugu people are proud of him for his great work.”

C Narayana Reddy (Cinare) has written more than 3000 songs and contributed to the success of many films. He is the recipient of Jnanpith Award for his work. The programme was headed by Telangana government adviser, retired IAS KV Ramana.

Vice chancellor of Potti Sriramulu Telugu University Aacharya Elluri Shiva Reddy, chief finance manager of Indian Oil Corporation ARV Badrinath, Dr Chennaiah, Dr Dvanashastri, Dr Vaddepalli Krishna, Dr K Kusuma Reddy, Dr R Prabhakar Rao, V S Ramarao and A S Murthy were present for the event.
