After the death of the suicide of a student, Rishikeshwari from Acharya Nagarjuna University, the AP Government has decided to make all educational institutions in the state ragging free. The AP Govt is planning to bring in laws for the students who are found to be guilty in ragging cases. If found guilty, the government plans to ban the students from studies permanently.

YSRCP fact-finding committee members visited the University and said that the inquiry into the death of the student was not transparent. Hence the YSRCP leaders demanded CBI inquiry into the student's death.
