Better prices for handloom products. Pochampally Ikat Art Mela 2015 was held at Sri Raghurama Vedika on Tuesday. It will continue until August 9.
Pochampally Ikat Art Mela 2015 was held at Sri Raghurama Vedika on Tuesday. It will continue until August 9. A wide range of handloom products, including silk and cotton saris, kurthis, duppattas, cotton shirts, dress material, tablemats, covers, bed linen, handbags and others were displayed at the expo.
The prices of exquisite handloom products are in the range of Rs 150 to Rs 37,000 and above. Speaking on the occasion, Pochampally Handloom Park director Bharata Lava Kumar said, The aim of the mela is to establish a direct contact between the producer and consumer.
The elimination of the role of middlemen in the process will ensure that handloom weavers get better prices for their products. We are offering an exclusive range of handloom products at reasonable prices at the expo.’’ The mela was inaugurated by actress Neha Deshpande.
