Hyderabadis expect more from KCR, GHMC

Ever since the new state government was formed by the TRS under the leadership of Mr. KCR in Telangana we have seen 14 months. As a citizen in Hyderabad I find the following links missing in providing good governance for the people of Hyderabad in the state capital of Telangana:

No field level observation and visits by senior govt officers who could provide feedback to the Ministers and secretaries of ministries to take immediate actions.

Always busy in meetings, reviews and such other actions without having proper data about the ground level realities.

The benefits of survey conducted are yet to be seen in terms of using them for various government programs - this questions the very authenticity of the data collected.

It appears that strategically TRS Leadership is either cheated or wrongly guided about how people in Hyderabad feel about the governance. The GHMC Elections are not far away and still the roads, drains, manholes, filth, etc that were untouched in many places since June, 2014 are serving as witness to the poor or no governance.

It is proved beyond doubt with scams being unearthed one after the other in GHMC from bogus contract labour to various creative corruption instances, that Mr. Somesh Kumar, IAS has proved to be the most unfit officer. Yet TS Govt treats him as a key person.

The differential treatment being given to different employees of the government created so much imbalance in obtaining full support of the employees. Why should we have different pay systems for RTC, transco, genco, GHMC, etc organizations when they are all coming under the Government of Telangana State?

Merely giving hikes without fixing individual accountabilities has made the governance very poor.

When CM visits the nook and corner of the state he would better appreciate the state of affairs. Most important thing in civic life is roads. Roads are in very bad condition. The way they are laid is the root cause of damage. Roads are made with primitive knowledge with no slope to drain water and allow the water to flow into drains.

Money is being spent in crores only to make way for spending the same amount for doing the same work.

These are some of the reasons for the people in Hyderabad to feel no positive impact of the new government. When the basic things do not change, people show no interest in seeing ads and reading news about future development.

One simple example is this: Narasapur X roads in Balanagar badly needs a fly over since 1983 upto Fathenagar T Junction. Many use this road to commute between home and work. There is no news about this. Similarly some of the road works were started and stopped to lay drainage pipes have created manholes. Two best examples are the Saptagiri Colony in kukatpally and Ayyappa Society that pay substantial property tax. Roads are yet to be made!!

With this kind of state of affairs KCR needs to do a miracle to win the GHMC Elections. The way candidates are selected for Corporator positions also determine the winning chances. The net result is the fact that people in Hyderabad are not at all happy with GHMC. Same is the case with people in all other districts due to the failure to provide basic civic amenities. 14 months is not a small period.

Hope to see TRS Government function in a manner that makes people feel the good governance.
